Bakugan are toys spun off from the Bakugan TV show (similar sort of thing to Gormiti I think). All I can tell you is that kids seem to get tired of GoGo Crazy Bones and then get into Bakugan - sorry, not kids, I mean boys.
I haven't quite worked out what Bakugan do, it seems to be a sort of top trumps like game where you have a magnetic playing card onto which the players roll their Bakugan characters which are little magnetic monster devices which fold up into a ball until dropped onto the magnetic card which causes them to open up. The one that lands on the highest score on the magnetic card wins. Or at least that's what I think - I may be wrong.
Bakugan are new, exciting and if you are a boy aged between 5-10, extremely essential. They are also slightly more expensive than some other toys of this type (again, comparing to GoGo crazy bones which were £1 for a pack of three and a sticker, these RRP at £4.99 for the most basic pack consisting of one magnetic card and a little character - known as a booster pack). There are bigger packs, carry packs, and more. Bakugan might be the latest craze, or may be about to become the latest craze. They are definitely a winning idea for a christmas present, and if you don't want to go too mad, then just get a booter pack in a stocking and it's bound to go down well.
Now, as Bakugan is a hit TV series in it's own right, you can also get all sorts of merchandise including Bakugan pogo sticks, Bukugan duvet covers, Bakugan tents, Bakugan clothing and t-shirts, Bakugan video games (for all current systems), Bakugan DVDs, Bakugan accessories etc.
